oh it’s easy! on photoshop, you just select with this tool:

and then select the area of the gif you wanna crop and select it on the layers and press delete. 

it should be transparent and on tumblr it’ll look any color :D

(if you wanna make it like the tumblr photosets just set it to 10px width :D)

Okay, so a few people have asked me how to work this software to get screen caps to be able to make gifs.

to download the software just go HERE .

after you have it, pick the vid you’re gonna extract the clips from.

what you have to understand is that a GIF is just screen caps put together, it’s not a vid. If you’re wondering how to make gifs on photoshop, i made a tutorial you can see HERE :D

(totally gonna use a doctor who episode because i feel like it) 

Okay, now you’re gonna open the file with KMPlayer :D

go to the part you’re gonna want to make the gif

so we’re gonna pause the clip when the gif starts:

and then we’re gonna right click on the screen and a menu should pop up

and we’re gonna go to CAPTURE <  FRAME EXTRACT.

and you should put your settings like these:

i usually put 10 on numbers to extract so i’ll know what to put on photoshop later, but it’s up to you xD

once you’re ready, you’re gonna click *start* and then it time should start running (just ignore that it’s not really important)

next we’re gonna press play on the movie and it’ll automatically save them into a folder that you need to look up.

(on that last pic the location is right up there, you can easily find it!)

okay so now you can close it. and go to the location and your screen caps should be there and ready to use!

that’s it! :D you’re ready to do the gif now!

Hello! I was asked to explain how to make my gifs , LOL :D so i’m gonna try to explain step by step how to make one

(i hope you understand since i suck at explaining..)

We’re gonna do this gif:

Okay so first you should get a program where to extract screen caps, i suggest using KMPlayer or GOM player but you can use which ever you want (if you need help on how to extract frames just ask me)

When you’re extracting your frames, i recommend you to select 10-12 frames because tumblr has this annoying limit which you can’t exceed 500kb and the less frames = the less big your gif will be in the end!

once you have your frames ready, we’re gonna open photoshop ( i use CS5 but any photoshop version is similar i guess ) :

If you don’t have this bar:

then just look up on window > animation and you have to have animation checked like this:

Okay so once you have that… you should go to FILE < SCRIPTS < LOAD FILES INTO STACK

and this should pop up, select your files and then load them :D

now your caps must have loaded and put all together in a window, such as this:

Now you’re gonna select the little thing up the upper right corner of the animation box and select “make frames into layers”

aaand you should have animation frames :D

ok so after that your frames might be reversed so you just click again on the little box and click reverse frames :D

okay now since tumblr’s a bitch you should make the size of the gif smaller by clicking on IMAGE < IMAGE SIZE and setting the number to 500 px

ok so after this you should just check the time, i usually put 0,15 between every frame, it actually depends on the gif you’re making

ok so after this you can add coloring, sharpen it so it’s something like this:

and now we’re gonna save the gif :D

just select FILE > SAVE FOR WEBS AND DEVICES

and you NEED TO CHECK THE SIZE. for example this gif in it’s original 13 frames is 745.6k

 so either you lower the colors or you reduce the frames (like i did here , i reduced the frames from 13 to 8) and now it’s fine:

and now it’s 492 kb so it’s good to go! :D

well that’s about it, you just upload on tumblr and that’s it ;D
